And, before you go any farther, here’s something that might help even if you don’t purchase the manual.

A consulting secret revealed

Look, when company budgets get tight, these companies react by eliminating positions. Not only existing positions but also open positions waiting to be filled. Work slows down as demand falls for the company’s products and services. But the problem is that organizations are often not very good at striking a balance between staffing levels and the changing demand they are seeing in the market place. Many times they foolishly let key people go or they lay off too many people. They may use salary as a guide for a layoff – how does this make sense? They lay off the most senior, knowledgeable staffers because they cost more. Makes no sense. They cost more because they know more.

As a consultant you can actually take advantage of this inversion of logic. Once the dust settles these companies begin to realize they still have business requirements needing the very skills they just terminated. This is where you have a consulting opportunity. You can either go back to your former employer and sell them a consulting assignment (at a much higher rate, of course) or sell your skills to other companies facing the same dilemma. Most companies will almost certainly misjudge balancing their staff against the changing demand picture – and therein lies an opportunity for the consultant to fill the gaps left by the layoffs.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not easy but it may help you open some doors. I get into this sort of thing and more in the manual but I have a feeling that times are going to get much worse, so try to be as prepared as you can.

And don’t forget the special offer I describe above - $9.95 for the whole package – the ‘How to be a Consultant’ manual plus the two free books plus the 90  day guarantee. Read more about the material below.

It looks like an economic storm has rolled in. If you need to find a new career and are at all serious about getting into consulting, I urge you to take advantage of this opportunity now. You may be worried about being laid off, you may have already been laid off, or you may just be thinking about what you would do if your company ran into trouble. Regardless, it just might be a good time to get thing underway. Read about the manual below and consider adding it to your resources and reference materials.

Written by a pro who has been through it all

What I am offering here is a unique, one of a kind, practical guide designed for the person who has always thought about being a consultant but didn’t know quite how to go about it. I decided to write this manual because of the experiences I had 35 years ago after I was laid off and began trying to get my own consulting practice started. It wasn’t easy but I did it and along the way learned lots of lessons. Now I’ve organized those and are making them available to you in this easy to use manual. I have spent time with presidents of billion dollar companies, discussing their future. And, I have worked with managers, VP’s, dock hands, production line workers and others in cities coast to coast and overseas.

You get 35 years of experience behind this powerful manual, all for a very nominal cost, and it is especially designed to help you take those important first steps.

The three most important actions you need to take to help insure success

They’re in the manual. I call them ‘Consulting Success Keys’ and I’ll talk about these in length. Then, if you decide consulting is for you, just knowing these three key factors will put you far ahead of your competition. If you decide to start a consulting practice then you’ll want to immediately start working on these three key actions. You’ll find the first one on page 20.

The essential six steps

You may be out of work now or concerned you might be soon. You may be looking for an alternative – consulting might be the answer, and if you think it might be, don't go it alone. My manual leads you through six critical steps you must take to plan your career . . . plus I give you one extra activity you should complete if it looks like you need outside financing. This seventh step is just icing on the cake.

  • You’ll find worksheets designed to guide you through the evaluations
  • There are lists and descriptions of important attributes and characteristics
  • You get these along with key components to proposals, work plans, and marketing strategies.  There’s even a sample invoice.
WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING:
Concise and to the point. A ‘must read’ for anyone considering consulting as a career. — JH, Kansas

Everything is designed to methodically lead you through the planning process

You’ll learn, for example, the one critically important key ingredient of every successful consulting practice.  Master this one key skill and you are more than 50% there. We’ll discuss it in length. You’ll find out about this valuable skill starting on page 33.

You’ll get tips on setting your billing rate, and what financial analysis you absolutely need to have down pat before launching a practice.

What the pro's know

We’ll disclose the four essential legs of the ‘consulting platform’ . . . these are the four things that you must be able to do well to succeed.  These are what the pro’s focus on. If you asked them, they might tell you, but you can get it straight from someone with a lifetime of consulting experience to back it up. It’s all in the manual.  Do these four things right and you are well on your way. These four ‘legs’ pull it all together and serve as the support for a successful practice.

Thirty-five years ago, nothing like this existed

Thirty-five years ago I had to start from scratch, without the kind of help you can find here. In the manual I tell you what it took to build my consulting practice. I would have paid hundreds for the information crammed into this manual, had it been available. Now you can get it all for about the cost of a decent meal.

The truth of the matter is that starting a practice is difficult. You need to gather information from as many sources and mentors as possible. Start with our manual and lay a solid foundation…then, build on what you’ve learned.”

What skills do you have that can be marketed?

You may have hidden talents that you never considered as anything more than a personal interest. Perhaps a hobby or lifelong avocation — something you’re good at . . . planning social events, public speaking, organizing charity events, or any of hundreds of specialties or niche skills. Or, maybe there’s some job you’ve done for years for an employer. How do you pin down that single most valuable skill that can be offered as a consulting service, and then, how do you market it? I’ll show you how and then I’ll show you what to do next.

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING:

I wouldn't even think about starting without the help from this professional.
— DS, Columbus, Ohio
